In the world there are millions of people who are unable to perform the most trivial actions every day because they suffer from some form of disability. Fortunately, technological progress offers them hope. Hope that in recent years has become decidedly concrete and real thanks to the development of devices and applications that implement a voice assistant able to help these people.
Unfortunately, however, the integration of these vocal systems within the largest digital platforms is still not optimal and their use is also very low by those users who could benefit greatly. Evidently there is still a lot of work to be done for the developers of vocal app in order to improve the user experience and in particular the interaction between man and artificial intelligence (because this is in fact).
So let’s try to understand what are the three aspects on which we need to focus in order to develop better and closer ” vocal” systems for the end user.

Let’s start with an incontrovertible fact: technology is there and it works. It is only necessary to put it at the service of those who need it. A voice assistant today is able to reproduce the human voice quite faithfully, changing even the tone of voice, speed and hesitating noises typical of human speech. However, it cannot reproduce the gestures and facial expressions that play a fundamental role in the dialogue between people. A possible way of development could be to create devices that in addition to “speaking” act and send non-verbal signals visible to the end user.
Why all this? Because the more a conversation appears human, the easier it becomes to communicate and convey emotions as well as simple information.
